![]() I totally bugged out because I was excited for them to meet each other. One of my favorite characters actually killed one of my other favorite characters. So, why was this book just fine for me? The author killed off two out of three of my favorite characters. This book has a journey story with angst, some romance, quirky characters, and richly detailed world inspired by Arabia. However, I think that this book is going to be more than fine for a great many readers. I know that fine isn’t exactly a great descriptor word for just about anything, but this was fine. ![]() This review is going to have some vague spoilers in them. However, as they are seeking it an ancient evil stirs and the prize they seek may pose a greater threat than either can imagine. Except, Nasir is also supposed to kill the Hunter. Zafira and Nasir embark on a similar mission to uncover a lost artifact that can be used to restore magic to their suffering world and stop the Arz. War is brewing and the Arz creeps closer with every passing day. Both are legends in their kingdom, but neither wants to be. ![]() Nasir is the Prince of Death, assassinating those foolish to defy his father, an autocratic sultan. ![]() Zafira is the Hunter, disguising herself as a man when she braves the cursed forest of the Arz to feed her people. “Together, we will raise dunes from the earth and rain death from the sky. ![]()
